Open Pizza Sandwiches

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 Slices Bread (Homemade bread or a bakery loaf work better than a branded loaf)
  • 2 TBSP Tomato Puree
  • 2 Slices Ham, Chopped
  • 2 TBSP Cheese
  • 2 TBSP Sliced, Cooked Mushrooms
  • 1 TBSP Chopped Onions

Preparation Time – 10 Minutes

Cooking Time – 10 Minutes

These open pizza sandwiches started the way a lot of my recipes start……. needing to get rid of items in my fridge. I had ham, onions, mushrooms and bread that needed to be used so I thought why not make mini pizzas.

To make these sandwiches, you need to toast the bread first to give them a sturdier base and stop them going soggy.

Once you have toasted the bread, spread each slice with tomato puree.

Top the toast with, ham, onions, mushrooms and then cheese.

Put the slices under the grill until the cheese has melted. Serve immediately.
