30 ‘Til 30 Recipe 4
I think we are all a little guilty sometimes of having those lazy days where despite our better judgement we give in and say “oh lets just order a pizza tonight”, now I don’t know about anyone else but I seriously begrudge paying for a pizza delivery when you can buy the exact same thing from a supermarket, I mean pizza is not special enough for it to be so expensive, also whenever I order a pizza most of it just goes to waste because it is just too much bread for me and to be honest I find them pretty disappointing. As you have probably guessed I am all for saving money where I can, it is seriously a good job that our English supermarkets have such strict coupon rules otherwise I would probably (definitely) be one of those crazy coupon people like from that show extreme couponing with their huge stockpiles.
I am a huge fan of a “fakeaway” I love finding healthier ways to make takeaway or fast food, so when I heard about these tortilla wrap pizzas I loved the idea, especially considering I pretty much hate the dough base part of a pizza, these were perfect as I still got to enjoy all of the delicious pizza toppings part. The best part about making your own pizzas is that you get to add whatever toppings you like and with these wrap pizzas you can make them as healthy as you like with the toppings because they are already way more healthier without all that unnecessary bread. A few brands now do square wraps which are great for these pizzas as they are usually just a little thicker than round wraps. These wrap pizzas are so easy and quick to make, you will have made and eaten one in less time than it would take to wait for a delivery.
Preheat your oven to 180°C
First of all you need to start by taking one tortilla wrap and placing it on a pizza tray or baking tray (you can bake your tortilla wrap for 5 mins in the oven to make it a little firmer before you add the toppings if you like, this however is not a must and honestly not something I ever do).
Next spread a couple of tablespoons of passata over the wrap.
Sprinkle some grated cheese over the top
Add the ham, mushrooms and onions, or whatever toppings you would like to add.
Place in the oven for around 15 minutes. Once cooked serve immediately.
** These pizzas should be served immediately and not made in advance as wraps are thinner than an ordinary pizza base there is a risk of the passata making the wrap soggy if left for a long time.
